Sky land revolution 2014
Spring / Summer 2014 hit the runway in September 2013 with dancers from the American Ballet Theater. The prints are original photographs taken by Tilly on a cross country road trip with William in 2012. The expansive horizons and striations of the mountains in the southwest captivated Tillly, and with their vintage manual lens and telephoto DSLR, they made stripes of the many visions where the sky met the land. They tucked the mountainsides into the triangles of their then-logo, and used those specific triangles to make a series of reversible Insigina garments. Along with inventions such as the Tubewheel, Billowers, Upsidowners, Switchers, Tubes, Pocketbelts and Armer, these prints came to life on Micromodal, Cupro and waterproof stretch nylon. They worked with printers, then in Industry City called ITP, where they would soon learn how to digital print.
